The NCDHD updated the risk dial on Wednesday. It did have a slight decrease for the entire region but remains in yellow and locally we are seeing an increase in reported cases. Last spring the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy launched their annual calendar competition for all elementary students across the state. The theme for the 2021 calendar is: Nebraska Don't Waste It! Late August winners were selected and Grace H. was one of those winners! An update for the Burwell Cross Country Meet: There is road construction on the west end of Highway 96, if you are coming from the west you can expect 15 to 20 minute delays, teams coming from the east should not experience any delays. Updated policy for Jamboree game at O'Neill on Tuesday, August 24th: Volleyball Specific • Teams will not switch benches between sets • There will be a designated area in the bleachers for masks and no masks. Please sit in your preferred location, do not go to the other section, and maintain proper social distancing. • Locker rooms will be disinfected prior to your arrival. • Concessions will be provided • Each team bench will have a marked off space that no fans will be allowed to be in. • All elementary aged students are expected to sit with their parents/guardians. They will not be allowed to be in the hallways except when going to the restroom or concessions. • No crock pots or meals will be allowed to be served to the players. They may have a grab and go type meal that they can eat on their bus. • No fans will be allowed inside the basketball court following a game. We ask that everyone leave the facility as soon as the final game is done.

On Sunday morning Chambers Public School was vandalized when a window was broken on the north side of the building. The perpetrators and their vehicle were caught on video by the security cameras at school and at 95 West. They have until noon on Tuesday to contact the school office to turn themselves in or the video will be turned over to the Holt County Sheriff’s office.

Per the NSAA, for the 2020-21 school year, only students that will be a freshman or 7th grader need a new physical. Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and 8th graders for the 2020-21 school year do not need a new physical if they had one on file at the school for the 2019-20 school year.
Chambers Public Schools will hold their high school graduation ceremony on June 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the gymnasium. This ceremony will be open to the senior graduates and their immediate family members. In addition, it is subject to current health department guidelines. Coyote Fitness Center Update: Applied Connective is scheduled to finish the fab update this Wednesday. Once that is completed members will need to come to the school office for a new fab. Due to on-going concerns with COVID-19 and the closure of school through March 30 the monthly parent meeting and coffee meetings will be cancelled. Correction: School will resume Tuesday, March 31st giving a two week closure due to COVID-19.
Based on the recommendation from the Governor, NDE and the North Central District Health Department, Chambers Public School will be closed from Tuesday, March 17 through Monday, March 23 with classes resuming on Tuesday, March 24. Additional information about activities will be made available once final decisions are made.
POSTPONED: The NSAA has suspended spring sports practice (track and golf) until Monday March 30 and all activity competitions until Thursday April 2. These suspensions may be extended should the conditions warrant.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has put out a set of guidelines for events, public gatherings and school guidance. At this time, Chambers will be following those guidelines. Samuel has been selected as a recipient of the Rural Health Opportunities Program through Chadron State College and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Sam is one of only five Nebraska students to receive the RHOP through Chadron this year.
