That BIG Crunch you heard at 9:40 AM was not an earthquake or a car wreck. The elementary students participated in the Great NEBRASKA Crunch Off. Students were given the option to crunch in unison on local produce. We had apples from Lambert Melons and Cucumbers from a garden in Chambers. The Junior High AG class distributed the produce to the classrooms that the kitchen prepared. At 9:40 AM we all CRUNCHED in unison! Each year the USDA holds a competition for the Great Crunch Off. Nebraska Schools participated during the month of October. The Lunchroom was able to pick the day and time for the students and some adults to participate. Nebraska has held the title of most participation for the last several years. It was fun to incorporate local produce and encourage some fun in the lunch program!! #GoCoyotes
